Therapy for Life Abroad
Online psychotherapy for people navigating life outside of their home country
I have lived, worked, and parented in five countries across four continents.
Some people call this "expat life." I think of it as building a life somewhere new, again and again, feeling the pull between different versions of "home" and carrying pieces of every place you've lived inside you.
If you're outside of your home country (by choice), I already understand.
This work is for you if you're:
• Adjusting to a move abroad (for your career, your partner's career)
• Feeling disconnected, isolated, or like no one around you quite gets your experience
• Holding the weight of identity shifts that come with cross-cultural life
• Raising kids abroad and figuring out what "home" means for your family
• Preparing for a move back to your home country
• Working through anxiety, grief, or life transitions tangled up with living far from where you started
The practical details:
I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Connecticut, working entirely online. If this is your first time looking into cross-border therapy, it's worth knowing that where I can legally see you generally depends on your physical location at the time of our sessions. I am happy to talk through what that means for your specific situation on a first call.
